Amazfit Ares Smartwatch – Review of Features

In the past few months, Huami Amazfit introduced several amazing wearables in the market. From classic, sport to rugged type of smartwatches.

The last one to be released in the market is the Amazfit T-Rex, a rugged smartwatch packed with sports and fitness features. It’s a rugged smartwatch built for outdoor activities. The device has a huge circular design with touch built. It is a popular device for Amazfit fans, that is why it is just fitting that Amazfit introduce a somewhat rectangular version of it, sort of in some ways. It is called the Amazfit Ares Smartwatch, a wearable with a rugged design.

Amazfit Ares – Light and Rugged

Measuring 46.5 x 55.6 x 14 mm, the rectangular/square shape body of the Ares lightweight, it weighs just 48 grams only. This is possible with its polycarbonate material making it light as well as durable from scratches and bumps.

It is rugged, it is tough with rigged physical buttons for easy operation. We still haven’t confirmed yet if the wearable is supporting touch screen operation or not.

Available in khaki/army green and black color, this includes its sport silicon strap with traditional stainless steel buckle. The overall body is IP68 rated, it can withstand up to 50 meters of water for about 10 minutes. It is built for outdoor so it is equipped to have this waterproof feature.

So far, it got all the basics and advance features of a sport and fitness tracking, It might not have a high definition display compared to AMOLED LCD by Amazfit GTR but I guess, the reflective display provide a much better display in outdoor settings. The battery life is impressive giving the smartwatch 14 days in normal usage with its health and fitness features used occasionally.

It has 23 hours with GPS+ GLONASS is used continuously and 90 days which is impressive if it is used in watch mode only.
