Design

Samsung just unveiled its next generation smartwatch. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 smartwatch. This new wearable by Samsung do have a classic/sporty style design, it has a much lighter, slimmer profile. The smartwatch comes into two sizes, the 45 mm and 41 mm version for those who do have a much smaller wrist.

Talking about the design of the wearable, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has a classic look. Almost similar in design with previous generation of Samsung smartwatches but this time it is more compact. It has at least two physical buttons for operation and Samsung brings back the physical rotating bezel, ditching the haptic type navigation bezel.

Although the design it not that revolutionary. There are a lot of positive review on it as it is much lighter as well as slimmer. The body is made from stainless steel and premium titanium material. The wearable is available in mystic black, mystic silver, and mystic bronze. It is durable with its MIL-STD-810G certification. The smartwatch has an IP68 waterproof rating and it is water resistant up to 50 meters underwater. The device is accompanied by a genuine leather strap with stainless steel buckle.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has a 1.4″ inch( 45 mm) 1.2” inch (41 mm) Super AMOLED display screen with full touch screen resolution. The screen has a 360 x 360 pixel resolution with 364 PPI. It is sharp with vivid picture display. It has a full touch screen operation with always on display feature. The smartwatch is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass DX, it is scratch proof as well as chip proof.

Under the Hood

It is powered by Exynos 9110 Dual Core 1.15 Ghz Cortex A53 processor with 8 GB of storage space and 1 GB of RAM. It runs the Tizen 5.0 for wearables operating system. For the sensors it has accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer, Optical heart rate sensor, ECG, blood pressure sensor, ambient light sensor.

There is an LTE version with the esim functionality, there is also a Bluetooth only. Additional connectivity includes WIFI, NFC as well as a built-in GPS. The smartwatch is compatible with Android 5.0 or higher and iOS 9.0 or above.

Features

To make it more personalize, the Galaxy Watch 3 is loaded with watch faces with over 40 combinations to suit your taste. It can also has a built-in oxygen measurement to record and check your SpO2 levels. Just like the Apple Watch it has fall detection feature, with its accelerometer, it can send SOS emergency to your contacts.

It also has an improved sleep monitoring, partnering with National Sleep Foundation to help you better understand your sleep. With LTE version, you can receive call and messages independently, with Bluetooth only function, you will receive notifications via your smartphone.

With its message notifications, the Galaxy Watch 3 is able to analyze text and photos and provide suggested replies. It also support Bitmoji stickers , making communication with your friends and family more fun. Additional function included are find my phone, alarm, weather and more.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has Li-Ion 247 mAh battery for 41 mm version and Li-Ion 340 mAh battery for 45 mm version and both uses the Qi wireless charging.
