Samsung Gear Sport

Design – Samsung Gear Sport, the sport and fitness version of the Gear series. The smartwatch focuses more on fitness tracker than notifications.

Still it has a rotating bezel design sitting on a rectangular body similar to sport watches that we have seen, it might look large but checking on the specs it is much smaller than the Gear S3, it is also much thinner due to the absence of SIM functionality. The smartwatch has a 1.2” inch screen, it is Super AMOLED with 360 x 360 pixel resolution protected by a Gorilla Glass 3. It is a multi sport watch with support for swimming, it is waterproof up to 50 meters, infact it works with the popular swimming app Speedo. It has a sporty strap that is compatible with .22 mm and available in black and blue color.

Under the Hood –  the smartwatch do have a similar specs with that of the Gear S3, it has a Dual Core (1.0GHz) processor with 768 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. Sensors include Accl, Gyro Sensor, Barometer, HRM, Ambient Light. It has a built in GPS, making it ideal for outdoor workout, you don’t have to bring your phone to track your activities, it also works with popular fitness app to synchronize your workout. The NFC support also allows you to use Samsung Pay for payment and other stuff.

Sport and fitness features are pedometer, calorie counter, health stats, multi-sport tracker, partner app support are UA Record, MyFitnessPal, MapMyRun, Endomondo, Spotify Offline player. Well for the notifications, the smartwatch can receive call and message notifications, social app notifications. The smartwatch has 300 mAh battery and last up to 4 days with normal usage.
