Skagen Falster 3 – Best Wear OS Smartwatch for 2020?
At the CES 2020, one of the wearables that captured our attention is the Skagen Falster 3 smartwatch, it is one of the latest smartwatch from Skagen, a sub-brand of Fossil that runs Google Wear OS.
According to Fossil, the wearable is one of the Generation 5, with all the latest hardware and features to it. Similar to other Fossil smartwatches, the Skagen Falster 3 goes for minimalist/sporty design, it is light and with a simple design approach. Thin bezel, clean body with just 3 physical buttons on the side for navigating and shortcuts. It has a sporty TPU strap that is removable, you can replace it or just pick a leather or metal variant. The body is a 42 mm stainless steel and with waterproof rating, it is swim proof up to 30 meters.
Regarding the display, the Falster 3 has a full color 1.3” inch AMOLED screen with sharp and vivid color display. It has a 328 x 328 pixel resolution and with full touch screen operation. Just like other new Wear OS wearables in the market, the Skalgen Falster 3 runs the latest runs the latest Qualcomm SnapDragonWear 3100 processor and with 8 GB of storage space and 1 GB of RAM. Sensors included are heart rate monitor, NFC, built-in GPS and other fitness sensors.
When it comes to features, it is pretty similar to its predecessor, having a call and message notifications, Google Assistant becomes very useful with its built-in speaker and mic. There is also a Google Fit integration, Google Pay support with its NFC support, activity tracking, customizable dials and other functions that has become the standard in Wear OS smartwatches.
The smartwatch is already available in selected stores and it will cost around 279 Euros. So far, there are already several positive reviews on the wearable, its design, features, its battery with its extended mode feature.
