PACKAGING AND CONTENTS:

The Oukitel C8 4G Smartphone comes in a simple cardboard box packaging in bright orange color. The exterior is classic with only the brand logo printed and the model of the phone on top of the box and the back part showed the basic specs of the smartphone.

When the box was opened, inside contents were of course the smartphone itself already incased with a protective jelly case, protective screen film, charging cable, power adapter, user manual and a warranty card.

However upon rummaging the box there’s no SIM PIN ejector found which is usually a must in smartphones, but in this model it wasn’t needed at all because the SIM CARD slot was located at the back when you open the back cover. There’s no freebies like earphones which is mostly given along with the phone as accessory.

DESIGN

At first glance the Oukitel C8 4G Smartphone can be mistakenly made with metallic material due to its metallic sheen however when you look at it closely it’s made with plastic material. Though the material used in the fabrication of the materials body is plastic, Oukitel managed to make it look high-end, like expensive.

When it comes to size, it measures 70.5 x 147 x 10.2 mm and weighs 156 g, this phone is a bit thick on the side compared to other smartphones that are usually thin but still it has a good feel, grip on the hand. It wasn’t heavy at all in fact it was handy.

The C8 4G has full screen display and the bezel was lessen so it’s a bit wider compared to other budget smartphones. This phone that we have is in color scheme of gold with a metallic finish.  This is a dual SIM with two separate SIM trays, one for a micro-SIM and another for nano SIM.

The buttons for this C8 4G are all found at the right side of the phone, it’s convenient enough to find volume and power button at the same place. On top you’ll find the micro USB port for charging, I think it’s a bit odd that it is located on top but I guess they wanted to make a difference when they designed this, still the audio jack for headphones and earphones is located on top.

The microphone is located at the bottom and you’ll notice a dent at the right bottom part this is used when you want to remove the back cover to expose the dual SIM trays and the battery. The speaker grill is also located in an awkward place. It’s found at the left bottom of the rear. Yes, it’s at the back, you when you want to use the speaker you can’t lay it flat on top of the table or anything.

In terms of the battery, Oukitel  C8 4G is powered by 3,000 mAh battery. This is non-built in battery, a fast charging one and when we used it for basic apps it gave us a day of screen time. However if you’ll used it playing heavy games or opening multiple apps at the same time the battery will drain faster.  The battery life is decent enough considering that this model offers 4G connectivity.

DISPLAY – VIBRANT COLORS

This C8 4G model is a 5.5 inch display screen + LTPS Tech in a pixel resolution of 1280 x 640 and 18:9 aspect ratio. It’s a decent full vision ratio producing vivid colors. The setting is an easy access for adjusting the level of brightness and contrasting colors. This beauty features an infinity display, it actually becoming a trend especially with bezel less phone like this one. What it does is it enhances the screen making it wider and experience impressive viewing. Let’s not forget that this is low-cost smartphone so an infinity display is massive.

HARDWARE –  FASTER – SMOOTHER

Under the hood it runs on Mediatek MT 6737 Quad-Core processor and a clock speed of 1.25 GHz.  Powered with these processors it meets the performance standard of a smartphone. The Mediatek is not bad at all since it gives faster response and smoother graphics for an entry –level phone. However if you open multiple apps it then starts to delay this is probably because of 2 GB RAM.  All in all can handle the processor was decent enough to handle basic operations faster but don’t open multiple heavy apps it will be a bit delay.

When it comes to storage 16 GB is enough space for downloading basic applications. You can extend this to fit all the files and videos that you need since it has a microSD card slot up to 32 GB.

CONNECTIVITY

This dual SIM slot phone supports GSM, WCDA, 4G LTE connectivity. Aside from that it has common features like GPS, Bluetooth & WiFi. It also features array of sensors such as Accelerometer, Ambient, Light Sensor and Gravity sensor.  It sports a finger locking sensor which is growing trend especially with high-ends smartphones.

CAMERA

The C8 4G has dual camera one in front and at the rear. The rear has 13.0 MP with autofocus  and has a LED flash to back it up. The front has 5.0 MP , it laso offers different modes which includes standard photo mode, panorama and for selfie lovers  a face beauty which enhances the overall look of the subject. It also has an HDR button which is good to have because of its vibrant color effects. The camera takes decent photos even on low light since it has LED flash. Here are some of the photos taken by the camera:

OVERALL

The Oukitel C8 4G smartphone is a decent low-cost smartphone if you compared it to other budget friendly phones. It performs well but with only minor issues such as slow response if multiple apps are opened. Considering the price of the smartphone the Oukitel C8 4G is great.
