[Review] Huawei Band 3 Pro Smartband – MultiSport + GPS Fitness Tracker

[Review] Huawei Band 3 Pro Smartband

Last year Huawei impressed us with the released of its fitness tracker Huawei Band Pro 2 with its sophisticated aesthetic and affordable price. It also comes with a built- in GPS and health monitoring features. Though the Band Pro 2 was a satisfaction Huawei doesn’t stop with the innovation, apparently Huwaie created yet another addition to its sophisticated fitness tracker and just like the Band Pro 2 it is low cost. It’s the Huawei band 3 Pro but unlike it’s predecessor the band Pro 3 is better and has more upgraded features.

Let’s learn more about the Huawei band pro 3, grateful to have one in our possession which comes in color Black thanks to @Banggood.com for sending us our very own, I was able to spend time with the Band Pro 3 and here’s our take on to it.

THE BOX

It comes in basic small rectangular white box which a transparent plastic on top. On the front you’ll find a display photo of the Band Pro 3 and upper right top is the logo of Huawei. You have to pull upward the box to open it and inside are the following:

  • 1 charging cradle
  • 1 micro USB cable
  • 1 user guide
  • 1 warranty card
  • Huawei Band 3 Pro

DESIGN AND DISPLAY

The design sparks sophistication with its metal frame which houses all around the display, Huawei was able to trimmed it down the bezels on the side and the Band 3 Pro looks sleeker and slimmer.

It’s design extends more considerably looking like the screen is seamless. The Band 3 Pro’s body though slimmer it’s well built but very lightweight and comfortable on the wrist. The think classy silicone strap is soft and skin friendly, I tried wearing it all night and it felt great on my wrist and even though it has a curvature it’s ergonomically designed to be comfortable enough to wear. The lock is a clasp which you can adjust accordingly.

The colors available (Blue, White and Black) which you check out @Banggood.com  plus the design itself will match any of your OOTD, since ours comes in Black it can match up even formal outfits, it’s a wearable that is a pleasure to wear.

Underneath you will find the charging base with the contact pins that you can connect the device and on the side of the charging base is a port for the micro USB which you can connect to a power to charge.

As our very own Huawei Band 3 Pro comes in Black the bezel is unnoticeable. When it comes to its display the 0.95-inch AMOLED color display looks vibrant bring seamless vision of a 2.5D display appeal on your eyes. You have to swipe the screen to see the menu and tap to select the sub-menus and other options.

KEY FEATURES:

This newest low- cost wearable went to a more comprehensive approach with its Holistic Health tracking features to keep your mind and body healthy as ever. Let’s start with it’s heart monitoring, as to what I had experienced the heart monitoring is quite accurate when i measured mine, it has the same result with other smart watch that we have.

This probably because the Huawei band 3 Pro uses IR light on its hardware design and backed up by intelligent AI which had given me precised heart rate measurement result and monitor it 24/7 with the Huawei Trueseen 3.0 monitoring system.

Just like the Band Pro 2 the Band 3 Pro also comes in a promising built-in lower power consumption GPS which is a must for a fitness tracker. It can mapped out your location accurately when out for a run, it took a little while with the signal but it gave me the exact location where I was. Huawei Band Pro provides real-time evaluation of training effects, including VO2 max and recovery times.

Let the Huawei Band 3 Pro monitor your sleep since it uses a more advanced tool through in-depth cooperation with Harvard medical School’s CDB center which helps you identify and correct the six common sleep related issues. Actually this feature is amazing cause it could provide you about 200 potential solutions and advice to have a better sleep and you will feel happier in the morning.

OTHER FEATURES:

So many have asked if the Band 3 Pro is waterproof, indeed it is one waterproof wearable which you could use and wear when swimming. Since I can’t swim, I wasn’t able to test the swim data but it supposedly give you an intelligent feedback with data like: calories, number of turns, and average SWOLF to improve your swimming prowess. However I was able to test if it’s really waterproof by wearing it into the shower, I didn’t have trouble using it but keep in mind that it wasn’t a hot shower. The Huawei Band 3 Pro is up to 50 meters waterproof.

Another good feature of this is you can stay connected with your peers or colleagues and even find your phone. This fitness tracker won’t miss you anything even when you are busy doing your fitness just connect it with the Bluetooth on your phone and the content of your message can be viewed on this wristband as well as incoming calls you will know with its caller ID, even let you rejects calls. With just a touch it the Huawei Band Pro 3 can be used as a remote for my camera on the Huawei phones running EMUI 8.1.

BATTERY LIFE:

The 100 mAh has a working time capacity of at least 14 days but this could depend on how you used the features often. But it was really possible to experience the Band 3 Pro for this long. It took about this long before I charged it, it took almost 2 hours to get a full charged for this tracker. With the price the battery life is pretty decent as it could also last up t0 20 days for a standby time.

OVERALL:

The Huawei Band 3 Pro has lot to offer even when it’s a low cost fitness tracker. Huawei didn’t sacrificed the quality even with a cheaper price. The Band Pro 3 was a breather when setting it up with its Huawei Health App on iOs and even on Android phone. It was skin-friendly and the key features were good to go when used. Just picking up the signal for the GPS was a bit delayed but overall the Huawei Band 3 Pro was good enough of a fitness tracker.
