Design

The Makibes HR1 has a simple design; it’s a typical looking fitness tracker, a PC body with a silicon strap. The overall design is similar to the Zeblaze Plug or the S9 smartband, having a removable strap and with direct USB plug on the edge of the tracker covered with the strap. It might not be that attractive compared to other smartband with a sporty innovative look, but simplicity is what you are after, the HR1 suits you.

Due to the material used in the Makibes HR1, the fitness tracker weighs only 21 grams and measuring only 46.5 mm x 18 mm x 11.9 mm. It is a lightweight smartband as well as durable, and so far it is comfortable to use and available in black, red and blue striking colors.

Display

The screen is an OLED display, a monochrome display, 0.96” inch in size a wide display screen that provide clear details and crisp text. I found the smartband display, performs better indoor but certainly have issues in direct sunlight, just like other OLED smartbands in the market it is sometimes unreadable especially if there is too much light. The band don’t have touch screen feature but instead it is using a touch key operation to navigate on its menus, so far it is very responsive on our test and I did not encounter any issues at all.

Features

Despite its price and simple design, the HR1 is loaded with several features, here are some of its fitness, health and other options.

Watch Faces – unlike other smartband with a fix clock/watch faces, the HR1 is preloaded with at least 4 watch faces, 2 analog and two digital watch faces (pick from steps info on watch face or heart rate)

Call and Message Notifications

Check who is calling or read SMS messages direct on your smartband with its message notifications.

Heart Rate Monitor and Pedometer – check the heart rate on the smartwatch, you can set it to continuous HR detection on the support app or just set it to manual, the default set-up.

Pedometer – it automatically tracks your steps and movement and it includes calorie counter as well as distance counter.

Additional Features are:

Sleep monitoring, stop watch, anti-lost and more

Overall

The smartband has the basic fitness and health features, it includes the basic notifications as well as other features. The battery life is just a week, but it is better compared to other fitness tracker with the same features and display. The Makibes HR1 with its features and price is a good pick for those who are looking for a simple and affordable smartband.
