It is Lenovo’s take on to a budget oriented smartphone, good price and good quality at the same time. We unbox and here’s what’s inside! DISPLAY

This phone is  impressive worth for your money. We’ve had it for days and it works amazingly. The 5.45 inches screen displays afford you to have that unique vivid HD experience. You’ll enjoy the clarity and crisp color due to its 1440 x 720 high resolution, 18:9 screen to body ratio, it is sharp and very responsive during our test.

What we love about this Lenovo A5 is the HD quality that it has even when it’s just in a cheaper price. Most of budget smartphones do not have good pixel quality but this model is different, aside from that it has 18:9 aspect ratio visual experiences giving you a better screen proportion. Though the it has wider screen it actually fits well on your hand and is lightweight even though the frame is metal, I’m not sure but  probably the device has a plastic back. We had it in color black, but you can get it in other variants like Gold and Rose Gold.

Since this phone have these kinds of features your phone has double security, you’ll have that ultimate assurance of safety. Going back to the screen, we forgot to mention that it has IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and absolutely stunning for a budget-friendly smartphone.

Hardware and Features

The Lenovo A5 smartphone is a mid-range phone with a fast processor having an MT6739 Quadcore processor, 1.5 Ghz. It is able to process the Android 8.1 operating system (Android Oreo) without any issues at all.

Despite the low price, the Lenovo A5 performs great in processing apps, even high-end games. But of course opening several apps at once, will result to noticeable lag.

The 3 GB RAM is enough to play games, open several hungry apps and take photos or videos. No worry also for the storage as it has several options, 16 GB, 32 GB up to 64 GB of storage space.  And all of the models supports up to 256 GB of micro SD card.

Security

Despite that it’s an entry/mid-range phone,  the Lenovo A5 supports two way unlocking, it has fingerprint as well as face unlock that has a fast response time.

Camera

It has a single rear camera, a 13 MP with option for different shooting mode, it provide a decent photo as well as video, although it performs average in low light conditions.

Its 8.0 MP front selfie is OK with soft light feature and a front flash for night time capture. Functions and options included in the camera app are Face beauty, Panorama shots, Face detection and other photo editing options and filters. So far, opening the camera is fast, it open automatically without delay and the capturing of photo is smooth and seamless.

Front Cam for Selfie has a built-in flash

Battery

Lenovo packed the A5 with 4000 mAh battery, a built-in battery with long standby time. The juice will last 1 to 2 days depending on the usage. Almost 8 hours of video play time and 10 days of standby time. It might not be comparable to high end phones with double standby time and with fast charging but still with the affordable price, you can’t complain much.

Smartphone Features and Options

Sensors in the smartphone include gravity sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor as well as micro USB connection, headphone jack and a bunch of options available in the latest mid-range phones.

Overall

The smartphone cost less than $100 U.S dollars, it is an affordable smartphone but with a decent specs and features. The device, has its own pros and cons, based on out test the smartphone has a lot of positive points. We also like its basic UI, simple and the apps don’t clutter, but if you want to optimized it to your liking, a free Android UI/skin app will solve your problem. Other positive note includes face and fingerprint security, 3 GB of RAM, clear, crisp HD screen. Right now, the smartphone cost less than $100 dollars, you might want to check GearVita.com for the latest deal on the Lenovo A5 smartphone.
