Huawei just recently unveiled the Huawei Watch Ultimate smartwatch alongside other devices. This new smartwatch surprised us with its durability, especially in terms of water protection. Some dubbed it as a divers smartwatch competing with the likes of Garmin, Apple Watch Ultra in terms of diving features. Check out some of the details below on its design, and diving features.

Design and Build Quality

Huawei Watch Ultimate, is a rugged outdoor smartwatch that aims to be the king when it comes to water protection, as well as diving. The smartwatch has a circular body design, it has a premium zirconium liquid metal case, with a rugged and at the same time, classic looking piece of wearable. Solid body frame with a robust body, body frame that is durable from corrosion, as well as scratch proof. For color options, it is available in Expedition Black, Voyage Blue.

There are at least three circular buttons on its side, for interaction, but still supporting touch screen for operation. The smartwatch comes with a stainless steel strap, that gives the wearable an office/classic look, and a new kind of material for straps, hydrogenated nitrile rubber that is intended for outdoor, sport activities.

When it comes to screen display the Huawei Watch Ultimate has an LTPO AMOLED Screen display, around 1.5” inch with a good screen resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. With pixel density of 311 ppi. With its full color, sharp screen display, it is surrounded by a ceramic bezel with chrono-type look that makes the wearable sport/classic look. On top of it is premium Sapphire Crystal glass that gives the screen ultimate protection from scratch, and chipping.

How Deep Can the Huawei Watch Ultimate Go?

The question is, what is the submersion rating of the smartwatch? Is it the ultimate smartwatch for divers? According to Huawei, the smartwatch has one of the highest rating or durability when it comes to deep water protection surpassing the Apple Watch Ultra by a factor of two.

It can survive depths of over 100 meters (Apple Watch is 40 meters). It can also survive up to 24 HRs underwater. Well, Huawei pushed the smartwatch to be the ultimate divers smartwatch with its certification, to withstand deep sea pressure with 16 water resistant structures. It has passed the EN13319 certifications, with ISO 22810 water resistance standard.
