Garmin Tactix Delta, another smartwatch designed as a rugged wearable and with features and specs that meet the military standards for durability. The smartwatch has a MIL-STD-810 certification, a rating for devices with a durable make. Built to survive in a different harsh environment where ordinary wearables would not.  The rugged outdoor smartwatch has a carbon coated bezel,  a scratch proof carbon coated bezel. The case material is a fiber reinforced polymer, lightweight, durable and built to  absorb impact compared to a steel body. It also has physical buttons on the side for easy access and navigation of menus. The devices has a waterproof, sweat proof durable TPU strap with quickfit attachment.

The new Tactic smartwatch has a much wider display having a 1.4” inch screen with 280 x 280 pixel resolution. The display might not be comparable to AMOLED screen with a high resolution, sharp and with full colors. But the transflective memory in pixel of the Tactix Delta gives the wearable an unfair advantage outdoors, even in direct sunlight by being visible, readable.

There are at least two features that set it apart from other rugged smartwatch from other companies. The Garmin Tactix Delta smartwatch is equipped with a kill switch and a stealth mode.

The Kill Switch, is a feature that can be set to erase the memory of the smartwatch, erasing all the stored data in the smartwatch including GPS history.

The Stealth Mode, just simply disable all the connectivity function of the smartwatch. Disabling the storing and sharing of information. Other Navy/military features include are Night Vision capability, JumpMaster mode, Dual position format.

There are other features included in the Garmin Tactix Delta that focuses on outdoor activities, of course it got the basics such as weather, call and message notifications, timer, alarm and more. It is a device designed to capture a market that is usually overlook especially in the smartwatch category, the military service men.

With its power saving screen and hardware, according to Garmin it has at least 80 days of battery life in watch mode, 21 days in smartwatch mode.

The Garmin Tactix Delta smartwatch is now available for purchased, it will cost around $999 U.S dollars, it is now available in Garmin website.
