Casio ProTrek WSD-F21HR Smartwatch – Specs Review
Design
Casio is back again with the new PROTREK smartwatch version. The Casio ProTrek WSD –F21HR smartwatch. Still it has that rugged design and with that signature look of Casio for its rugged smartwatch. The device has several physical buttons for operations and its body is built for outdoor with its durable design.
The bezel is thick ensuring that the smartwatch can withstand fall and bumps during your outdoor adventure. It has a soft urethane bezel with double pin buckle for a tight lock. It also has a high rating for durability, it has an MIL STD-810, a U.S military standard for durability. The smartwatch is also waterproof up to 50 meters.
Display
The Casio ProTrek WSD-F21HR has a 1.32” inch dual layer color TFT LCD with 320 x 300 pixel resolution. To save power it has a monochrome LCD to provide basic information without using too much power. The display is touch screen with anti-fouling coating. It is a smart feature giving the smartwatch added battery life.
Under the Hood
It is packed with different sensors, it has air pressure, altitude sensor, accelerometer, gyrometer, compass, optical sensor and PPG heart rate monitor, it also has built in GPS for map trajectory. Connectivity of the smartwatch includes Bluetooth 4.2 and WIFI 802.11. It runs the Wear OS by Google and compatible with Android 4.4 and above or iOS 10 and above.
Features
Casio features GPS technology and with offline maps making it easy to track your location anywhere even without cellphone network. For the first time the ProTrek will have a heart rate monitor, you can now check the status of your HR during workouts, especially during intense activities. It also has location sharing and messaging, activity includes running, trail running, trekking, fishing, cycling, paddle and snow activities. You also have the option to show current location, save location info, point navigation. The smartwatch also features schedule, achievement and goal notifications.
Battery
The smartwatch has a lithium ion battery with 1.5 days of battery life in normal usage, this is when the color display is off and about 1 month in multi- timepiece mode only.
