The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is here and as expected it comes with new hardware and features. The wearable has a similar design to that of the Mi Band 4. Still, it got a sim lightweight body, still using a PC material with a sporty silicon strap with a much slimmer profile.
Regarding the strap, unlike with the previous Mi Band with a single color. The strap with the Mi Band 5 is available in two adjustable one color strap and a two tone strap with different color on the body of the strap. Still, it is interchangeable, a strap on method type which makes it easy to replace it. Overall, the body waterproof , able to withstand up to 50 meters underwater.
Display
With regards to the display, it has 1.1” inch AMOLED display with full color large dynamic display screen with 126 x 295 pixel resolution. Sharp, bright screen display with full touch screen and touch key button operation as well. It has a 2.5D tempered glass screen with crystal clear clarity.
Under the Hood
It is packed with additional sensor, 3 axis accelerometer, 3 axis gyroscope, capacitive proximity sensor, optical heart rate sensor, and NFC. The smartband has Bluetooth 5.0 BLE compatible with Android and iOS platform. It is using the Mi Fit app available in both platforms.
Features
The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 smartband has call and message notifications with caller ID. It also support social app notifications. With the new Mi Band 5 there are a lot of additional features. One of the addition is a PAI support. These features are very useful especially for those who are having an intense workout. There is also a physiological monitoring, Stress Monitoring, Bluetooth photo capture , music control. NFC payment, weather, 11 sports mode and more.
Battery
There is a huge improvement on how you charge your Mi Band 5. Instead of removing the body from its strap to charge. The Mi Band 5 has 125 mAh battery and uses a magnetic charging to quickly charge the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 smartband.
