Xiaomi Mi band 3i – Specs Review
The affordable Xiaomi Mi Band 3i is here, it is a fitness tracker with a slightly similar design to that of the Mi band 3. It has a polycarbonate body with a capsule like design, a sporty and lightweight smartband weighing only 38.2 grams.
Regarding the strap, it’s a sporty, durable TPU strap style similar to the Mi 3 but with a much slimmer design and a bit different design. The body and the strap is available in black color options only and it is waterproof up to 50 meters.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 3i smartband has a 0.78” inch AMOLED display having 128 x 80 pixel resolution. It has a touch screen method of operation with anti-fingerprint coating avoiding fingerprint smudges on the screen. Although it is AMOLED, Xiaomi choose to make the screen a monochrome white, it is a single color but with good brightness having 300 nits.
Under the Hood
When it comes to its hardware, the smartband has 3 axis accelerometer for its sports and fitness tracking. We all know it’s a fitness and health tracer and should have this feature, a heart rate sensor, but sadly it is missing this function. The band focuses only on the following features, step tracking and notifications. The wearable has a Bluetooth 4.2 BLE compatible with Android 4.4 or iOS 9.0 and above.
As I have stated, the wearable focuses only on fitness tracking specifically running and walking. It has a step and calorie counter with improved algorithm. The activity tracking allows you to track activities like running, walking, cycling and treadmill. Other functions included are sleep monitoring, weather, alarm and event reminder. For notifications, it is able to receive incoming calls and messages, with options to reject calls. It can also receive social app notifications, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and more.
According to its specs, the Xiaomi Mi band 3i smartband has 110 mAh lithium polymer battery with 20 days of normal usage with just 2.5 hours of charging time.
