Design

Microwear is back with a new smartwatch with rugged design but equipped with medical functions, introducing the Microwear L8 smartwatch. As we stated the device has a rugged design, having an alloy casing with a plastic case  back. The body has a single physical button on the side and with a sturdy silicon strap. It is also waterproof with its IP68 waterproof rating. The smartwatch is available in black, red and green colors.

Display

The Microwear L8 smartwatch has a 1.2” inch TFT LCD screen with 240 x 240 pixel resolution. It’s a full round display with high definition color. It is visible outdoor, even under the sunlight according to its specs. The display screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla glass cover, which adds protection making it truly rugged.

Under the Hood

It is powered by Nordic nRF52832 processor with 512 KB + 64 MB of ROM and with 64 KB of RAM. When it comes to its medical sensors, it is equipped with ECG + PPG, it also has a blood pressure and blood oxygen monitor. It has Bluetooth 4.0 and compatible with Android 4.4 and iOS 8.0 and above.

Features

One of the main feature of the Microwear L8 smartwatch is its multi-mode sports, it support walking, running, swimming, climbing, cycling, football, basketball, table tennis and badminton.

Additional functions included are Bluetooth music, weather, alarm, calendar, sedentary reminder, camera remote, anti-lost. Call and message notifications with options for reject calls, it also supports social app notifications.

Battery

The Microwear L8 has 320 mAh lithium polymer battery with 30 days of standby time  and 7-10 days of normal usage.
