Garmin just introduced the Garmin VivoActive 4 smartwatch, a wearable that focuses on sport and fitness. The wearable has a rugged sporty design, having a stainless steel bezel, lightweight fiber reinforced polymer cover. Weighing just 50.5 grams, the wearable has a lightweight but durable body. It has a sporty silicon strap with quick release pin, having a 22 mm industry standard measurements. It’s a beautiful looking sporty classy smartwatch with 5 ATM waterproof rating.
Display
Garmin still focuses on sunlight visible display, just like other wearables, the VivoActive 4 has transflective memory in pixel. Having a 1.3” inch display with 260 x 260 pixel resolution. It is a good display for and outdoor wearable, visible outdoor even in direct sunlight. The display support touch screen method of operation. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla glass 3 known to be durable and scratch resistant.
Under the Hood
Just like the VivoActive 3, the VivoActive 4 is packed with sport and fitness sensors, it has Garmin Elevated Wrist heart rate monitor, barometric altimeter, compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, thermometer, PulseOX and GPS/GLONASS/Galileo, it also has NFC for Garmin Pay. Connectivity includes Bluetooth, WIFI. For storage it has 14 days of activity tracking data, it can also store up to 500 songs. The smartwatch is compatible with Android and iPhone platform.
Features
When it comes to features, the Garmin VivoActive 4 is loaded with it. It has 24/7 all day heart rate monitoring, more than 20 preloaded GPS and indoor sports apps. For different monitoring and tracking features, the smartwatch has sleep tracking, respiration tracking, menstrual tracking, stress tracking, hydration tracking and more. It is packed with smart notifications, receive call and sms messages, social app and email alerts. With its NFC, you can take advantage of the Garmin Pay for contactless payment. Battery
For the battery, there is little improvement on the longevity of the juice. The smartwatch last over a week, up to 8 days in smartwatch mode, while if you are into sports and with GPS activated it will last up to 6 hours, the same battery life when the smartwatch is in music mode.
