Design – available in several colors like tangerine, black, blue palm and teal, the Fitbit Charge HR with its sleek look will surely attract fitness enthusiast, it’s not bulky like other smartbands that sometimes it’s uncomfortable to wear.
It has a small monochrome OLED display, with buttons on the side to cycle through options. The Charge HR does have silicon watch strap with stainless steel buckle similar to what you see in common watches with rubber strap. It uses a proprietary charger, just be careful not to lose it, there are already a lot of complain in this area, I wish Fibit should have chosen a micro USB to make it easy for the users to use other cables.
Under the Hood – the smartband is built for health and fitness, it has a continuous heart rate monitor, an accelerator and barometer. Unlike previous Fitbit smartbands, the Fitbit Charge HR do monitor your health and fitness automatically, it is able check and start monitoring based on your movements with step counter and calorie counter. If you want to track your exercise routine, just hold on to the button and it automatically tracks your training session. The smart band is packed when it comes to health and fitness but do lack in the notification area. But it does have a caller ID feature, when someone calls on your smartphone, the name of the caller appears on the small screen.
