Design

Xiaomi just quietly unveiled a new smartwatch in partnership with Jeep, a SUV/vehicle company, the wearable is simple called Xiaomi Jeep Smartwatch. The smartwatch has that rugged outdoor type design. It’s a perfect smartwatch for offroad enthusiast and a perfect partner for the popular Jeep vehicle. It has that manly design with that PC thick body that is resistant form bumps and scratches. It has a sporty TPU strap with stainless steel buckle.

The smartwatch has 49.5 mm x 15.4 mm and with three physical buttons on the side for operation while still supporting touch screen. It is IP68 waterproof rated which is a top rating protected from water as well as dust. According to its specs the Xiaomi Jeep smartwatch is waterproof  up to 1 meters for 30 minutes.

The smartwatch is a collectors item, instead of packaging it in an ordinary box, and it is packed in a tool box like container and inside is the device and its accessories with a collectors item Jeep toy, see details.

Display

The wearable has a 1.3” inch AMOLED screen with touch screen method of operation and with a 360 x 360 pixel resolution. It is sharp as well as clear with HD full screen color. The Jeep smartwatch gives the wearable a premium look. I guess the only issue with AMOLED is that  when it is outdoors it doesn’t have a good performance especially in direct sunlight.

Under the Hood

The smartwatch is powered by  a powerful Snapdragon 2100 processor, known to power popular branded wearables running WearOS. It is fast as well as with less power consumption, of course it is a bit expensive compared to MediaTek processors.

When it comes to memory and storage, it has 512 MB of RAM which is enough to run its apps and the Android OS itself,  a 4 GB of ROM which is occupied by the OS. Connectivity included in the smartwatch are Bluetooth 4.1/BLE and WIFI 802.11 b/g/n as well as NFC. The wearable supports 4G connectivity with its built-in nano SIM slot, located on the strap connection. With its you can have independent calls, receive and reply messages as well as open apps through WIFI or VIA 4G network.

Features

With its gyro sensor and waterproof feature, it has several outdoor activities like running, cycling, walking and swimming. It also supports call and message function, music player, voice command feature. It is preloaded with several watch faces including a watch faces with a Jeep logo. It also supports several social apps such as WhatsApp, QQ, Alipay and more.

Battery

The Xiaomi Jeep smartwatch has a charging cradle to charge the device compatible with Micro USB. It has 460 mAh battery with 2-3 days of usage time which I think is pretty good for this type of smartwatch.
