Timex Metropolitan R Smartwatch – Specs Review
Design
Simple classic design, this is the 42 mm Timex Metropolitan R smartwatch. The body is an aluminum material with a ceramic bezel that has a markings giving it a chronograph feel. It is light and looks durable. Looking at it, the design is similar to the Amazfit GTS smartwatch. But this is not surprising as the watch is made by Amazfit in partnership with Timex. The smartwatch is slim and light just weighing 39 grams.
The strap is 20 mm with quick release pin, it is a combination of silicon strap on the bottom and a leather on top giving the wearable a premium look and feel. It is waterproof up to 30 meters, but it is not suitable for swimming.
Display
The Timex Metropolitan R smartwatch has a beautiful sharp, bright screen display. A 1.2” inch AMOLED display with 390 x 390 pixel resolution. Just like the latest Amazfit smartwatch, it has an always on display, but you can set the raise to wake to save power. The smartwatch supports touch screen method of operation, it is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass display.
Under the Hood
It is equipped with g-sensor, heart rate monitoring, built-in GPS. Timex did not divulged the other sensor and memory of the device. It has Bluetooth 4.0 compatible with Android and iOS platform.
Features
Functions and features included are automatic step counter, with calories and distance monitoring. It is also equipped with multi-sport mode, walking, running, swimming, cycling, skiing and climbing. Call and message notifications, social apps notifications such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Email. Other functions included are music control, phone finder, built-in watch faces.
Battery
We don’t have the details yet on the actual battery capacity of the device. But according to its specs is product page, the smartwatch has 15 days of battery life in just a single charge.
