Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 – Specs Review
Design
Just a few months ago, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch active. It is a minimalist smartwatch loaded with sport and fitness features. With its success, Samsung followed it up with an upgraded version, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 smartwatch. This smartwatch has a premium look, available in 40 mm and 44 mm case size and the wearable is available in aluminium or stainless steel version.
It is available in different colors black, rose gold and silver. You have an option for leather or silicon strap ( 20 mm). Simple yet elegant, that is what the Galaxy Watch Active 2. But I think the best feature and selling factor of the smartwatch is the rotating bezel. Yes it is back but instead of a mechanical type of rotating bezel, it is digital. It works the same in fact it is much better, it uses the technology haptic feedback to achieve this. With this feature you can cycle through the series of menus just like the original mode. The smartwatch has an IP68 waterproof rating and it is waterproof up to 50 meters.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 has a high definition display. It has a Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen display. The screen is a 1.4” inch Super AMOLED with 360 x 360 pixel resolution with 364 ppi. It is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass display. Unlike other smartwatches with AMOLED display, the wearable has an Always on Display which makes it easy to read time unlike other smartwatches that you need to lift your wrist to display the time.
Under the Hood
It is powered by an Exynos 9110 Dual Core 1.5 Ghz Cortec A53 processor and with 4 GB of storage of space and 1.5 GB of RAM. The wearable runs the home grown OS of Samsung, Tize for Wearables. Sensors included in the smartwatch are accelerometer, gyro, heart rate monitor, ECE, barometer, ambient light. It also has a WIFI connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, a built-in AGPS, GLONASS, GALLILEO, BDS.
Features
As expected the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is loaded with sport and fitness. It also has a real time voice and text translation in over 16 languages. There is also a music player with its Spotify integration. There is also a version with LTE functionality. “ My Style” option added to the smartwatch, it allows you to create customized watch faces. Regarding the sport feature, the smartwatch has walking, running, cycling, elliptical trainer, workout function and swimming. It is a pretty featured pack smartwatch loaded with cool functions especially for its sport and fitness feature.
Battery
The smartwatch has a lithium Ion battery, a 340 mAh with wireless charging feature. The battery last for more than a day in just a single charge.
