Pebble 2, the second generation of the successful affordable Pebble Classic. This new version added several new features including a heart rate monitor, and with a more slimmer design. Again to keep the cost and weight down, Pebble still used a polycarbonate material, but don’t get me wrong, with the materials used in Pebble, still the watch is durable and able to do its job. Anyways let’s get to know more about the Pebble 2, its features and specs.
Physical Look – the Pebble 2 as we said still uses a polycarbonate material, it is much slimmer than the Pebble classic with much curvy design. The Pebble Classic is a bit bulkier, while the Pebble 2 do have a slimmer and thinner body. The watch uses an e-paper display, a high resolution black and white screen, in navigating the UI of the watch, you need to access and use the button on the side, if you are looking for a touch screen display, sadly you can’t find it in Pebble 2. The watch has a silicon strap, with quick release pin, but if you want a leather strap or metal you can interchange it with a third party strap, just make it sure its .22mm.
Under the Hood – it got a new sensor such as a heart rate monitor, but Pebble still kept the previous sensor in its Pebble classic, the Pebble 2 got an accelerometer, magnetometer, ambient light sensor, it is also water proof with up to 30 meters. It still has the best battery life in the smartwatch industry with 10 days of battery life.
OverAll – the watch is a great example of an affordable smartwatch without compromising the features and its specs, yes it lack the touch screen interface but, the 10 day battery life is irresistible for smartwatch fans, anyways touch screen watch so far is known for its hard to use access menus due to the finger covering the menus or icons on the watch.
