Amazfit T-Rex Smartwatch – Specs Review
Design
Here is the first rugged smartwatch from Amazfit. The Amazfit T-Rex smartwatch. The wearable has a rugged outdoor design similar to that of the Casio Protrek or the G-shock watch. It has an inner alloy material giving it a rigid body, the outer part is a polymer material giving it a durable impact resistant body without adding to much weight. The wearable has 4 physical buttons on the side for operation, use for navigation “up”,”down”,”back” and a select button for menu selection. The rugged body is equipped with silicon strap with sweat permeable feature, making it skin friendly, breathable as well as durable.
Talking about durability, the wearable has a military certification standard. It has 12 military certification (MIL STD810G), making it resistant to harsh environments. It has heat resistant feature, humidity resistant, cold as well as salt spray, acid and alkali resistant. According to Amazfit the wearable has been designed to have a distinct angles minimizing impact on fall. It is also waterproof up to 5 ATM with features that support swimming. The smartwatch is available in rock black, gun grey, army green, camo green and khaki colors.
Display
The Amazfit T-Rex smartwatch has a 1.3” inch AMOLED color screen with support for always on display. The always on display can be turn on or turn off depending on your needs. With its rugged design, the smartwatch is preloaded with futuristic, rugged and sporty watch faces to suit your style and personality. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla glass 3+ with anti-fingerprint coating making it durable as well as having an oil free screen.
Under the Hood
The wearable is loaded with sensors such as Biotracker PPG Bio Tracking optical sensor, 3 axis acceleration sensor, geo magnetic sensor and ambient light sensor. It also has a GPS + GLONASS for map trajectory for your outdoor sport activities. It is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 BLE compatible with Android and iOS platform.
Features
Amazfit is a sport smartwatch equipped with 14 built-in professional sports mode. It has run feature, tread mill, trail run, walk, elliptical, climb, hike, ski, outdoor cycle, indoor cycle, pool swimming, open water, triathlon and fitness. Other features included are weather notifications, call and message notifications, preloaded watch faces, timer, alarm and more.
Battery
With its 390 mAh lithium polymer battery, the Amazfit T-Rex smartwatch has 20 days of normal usage, around 66 days in basic watch mode and 20 hours of GPS is continuously activated. The longer battery life is possible due to its advanced low power consumption chip.
